A last minute decision
Saturday, November 14, 2009
We had a very encouraging weekend with over 130 student at the former communist youth-camp. The theme for this annual fall retreat was “Is Jesus enough?” gave an opportunity to challenge the students’ commitment in their walk with God, to grow their knowledge of the Bible, encourage them in their faith, worship together and enjoy fellowship. Edina had the opportunity to give a 25 minutes talk on her experiences on walking with God through difficult times. Her personal stories from our lives gave great opportunity to students to learn through practical life issues what it means that Jesus is enough.
Adam is from Transylvania. He is a student in Cluj, Romania. The Hungarian speaking part of Romania.
Zsolt is also from Transylvania. He is on staff with Crusade in Hungary.
Adam came to our fall retreat from Cluj with a team of 11 other students. He has attended Crusade events for a year now, but no decision yet to place his trust in Christ's saving act on the cross.
Zsolt decided to spend some time with Adam at the retreat. It turned out to be several conversations. And more prayers...
Last morning we had sharing time. Students shared different stories about the weekend. We were about to close the retreat with some more announcements. Than suddenly Adam stood up and walked to the mike. He did not say much: "Ooh, this will be hard to say..." than paused. "I made my decision!" He was somewhat shy to look at the students. But than: we started clapping and shouting of joy and celebrated God and Adam's boldness to step out and give his VERY FIRST TESTIMONY of his relationship with God!
