New missionaries

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Dear Praying Friends,

:: New missionaries!!! ::

We have 32 full-time long term missionary staff and 2 short term missionaries serving with us and one paid hourly. This year 6 Hungarians are applying on staff. Two of them already went through the application process and had been accepted. Pray for the rest of the applicants. Pray, that God would provide for their support. Also, there are 6 short-term missionaries will be serving with us next year from the U.S. and 2 from Poland. This coming school year potentially we'll have 40-45 full time missionaries working with us! This is great news and a great challenge! Pray for Edina and I along with our Leadership Team to be good leaders, shepherds, encouragers, teachers and examples of these precious people who gave their life to mission! Scary responsibility! God have mercy on us!

:: 40 day prayer-chain ::

The student leadership of the YTL movement is not just growing in numbers, but we see a great growth in depth: in their character and walk with God. This vertical growth is much more valuable than any kind of horizontal, numeric growth. One great sign of this kind of spiritual growth in these students' lives is that they've initiated and organized a 40-day prayer-chain for Hungary. They own the mission and they understood that before we could do anything for the lost, we need to pray for them. These students organized an opening event where they've asked me to speak and encourage them to pray for the country. After the event they've published an online 40-day prayer-calendar with very specific prayer-requests for our country. We are in the middle of this prayer-chain.

:: High School evangelistic blitz ::

The past 2 weeks the YTL High School ministry team focused on a special evangelistic blitz. They went to dozens of high schools, speak at close to a hundred classes and approached hundreds of students. Every student received an invitation to a special evangelistic outreach. The room was packed with the 190 students who showed up on the night of the event. The gospel was clear, bold and personal as one of our student leader shared his testimony. (As you see, more and more of the ministry is led by students, which shows their growth.) Pray for the follow-up.

:: Prayer-needs ::

1. Student-retreat - April 9-11

Once a semester we have a special retreat for students involved in our ministry. This year we hope to see 150 at this retreat. There will be great teaching, fellowship, seminars and fun. Pray that this weekend would deepen these students walk with God.

2. Annual Board meeting - April 7-8

Annually our Board meets with our National Leadership Team. This is an important time to evaluate and plan. Pray for wisdom, insight for all of us as we seek where God wants to lead us in the future. YTL is at a point of growth which is very exciting, but brings a lot of challenges as well.

3. National Director's Conference - April 13-19

Gabor is traveling to Ukraine for the National Director's Conference. This is a great opportunity to meet with others who are carrying the same responsibility and also hear from our leaders. Campus Crusade is going through some major global reorganization. Pray that this would benefit our ministry in Hungary even more and we would adjust fast to the new organizational structures. This conference will be key for me to learn more about it. Also, please, pray for our family while I'm gone.

4. Staff days, SpeakOut camp, our time in the U.S.

- May 3-4 - we gather our staff for two days to celebrate and evaluate what God has accomplished this school year as well to prepare them for the summer.

- June 25-July 28 - SpeakOut camp. We have many-many students applying to be student-staff and helpers. We still need more Americans to come and help. We'll send groups from the camp to 4 different locations including Romania and Albania.

- June 5-July 11 - our family will be in the U.S. Pray for a fruitful and effective time. This is a rare moment that our whole family can be there and we want to maximize our time to see as many of you as possible.

We are full with thanksgiving to God for your faithful prayers, partnership, love, care and support! Thank you!
