Most successful SpeakOut ever!

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Dear Praying Friends,

:: "SpeakOut 2011" - 4 cities, 3 countries, thousands are exposed, almost a hundred decisions ::

Yesterday the "SpeakOut 2011" ended with great blessings and success beyond our hope. Numbers are very inadequate way to summarize the camp, but represents at least some of the impact of the camp.

>>> We sent teams to 4 cities in 3 countries.

>>> Over 360 non-Christian campers came to spend 3 x 1 week with us.

>>> Our student volunteers approached over 2,700 students at those cities and offered the opportunity to discuss about Christ.

>>> Over 1,600 students have heard a personal gospel presentation from one of our student volunteer or staff.

>>> 97 students indicated a decision. We never saw such openness and results!

For our family the greatest blessing of this camp is what it meant to Rahel. She led two girls to Christ and now following them up. Also, two of her classmate - Zsofi and Rebi - came to the camp and they are very close to a decision. Rahel's walk with God matured a lot during that month as well her experience in the ministry. We can't imagine a better environment for our kids than what YTL ministry can provide for them!

We'll come back to you with more personal stories later about the camp.

:: Moving days are close ::

Wednesday and Thursday our moving days. But we wont leave our temporary home until next Tuesday and Wednesday. Renovation is almost over. I'm finishing up to install our kitchen and other things. Pray for strength in that whole process.

:: Follow-up on the government's decision ::

Many of you expressed your concern about the government's decision. It turned out even worse. At the last moment they've modified the law and they only recognize 14 churches and religious groups now. They don't even recognize the methodist church any more or some other important denominations. The only evangelical protestant group they recognize are the baptists. There is a strong desire to Catholicize the country and this really hurts now the evangelical community. I met with the leadership of the Baptist Union in Hungary and they are willing to provide some kind of legal shelter for our staff (not for our program and ministry activities). Pray that this would work out well. This way we could keep our independence, but they would be willing to give the right kind of legal status for our staff in order to remain tax-free.

:: Prayer-needs ::

1. Our moving - strength and good logistics (our stuff are at 4 different places).

2. Follow-up of the SpeakOut camp - that most of the 97 converts would become remaining fruit.

3. I'll start new staff training tomorrow - we have 3 new staff. This orientation and training is important in how they start their staff life. They start to raise their support - pray for them as they are seeking partners to join them. All 3 of them are very sharp young Christians.

4. We'll have our annual staff conference from August 16-19. I'm leading that whole conference. Pray that God would use that time to refresh the staff spiritually and that God would give them hope and a renewed spirit as we are facing a crisis because of the government's decision.

5. We'll start distributing the Evangelistic Student Survival kits at the end of August.

Much more need to be said about the many wonderful things God is doing and the challenges we are facing! We are totally inadequate to carry all these responsibilities, but through YOUR prayers God enables us by His Spirit! Keep lifting us up to the Lord! Your partnership in this spiritual battle is absolutely essential! Thank you!
